Halifax Waterfront Update
May 24, 2018
Adam Langley is with the Waterfront Development Corporation and sent us this update on the latest news from the Halifax Waterfront.
“The Halifax Waterfront Marina is open and active for the season with many yachts large and small having already passed through. Construction of Queens Marque continues this summer meaning the popular pedestrian sea-bridge is back and open.
Changes to floating dock locations have been made to compensate for the temporary out of service Cable Wharf floats. These adjustments include additional floating docks at Purdy’s Wharf and Bishops Landing. Foundation Seawall, directly beside the beer garden and many local vendors, is available again this season for visiting boats. As always, the marina is accessible for free daytime berthing and for overnight accommodations at a reasonable rate. Visit my-waterfront.ca for details or contact the Marina Office directly by phone 902 229 2628 or email marina@wdcl.ca for up to date information on availability.
As an extension of Halifax Waterfront Marina services, floats are also deployed to Garrison Pier on McNabs Island giving boaters easy access to explore this gem in Halifax Harbour. A day can be easily spent exploring the island, hiking trails, forts and beaches. It is highly recommended that a visit to Halifax Harbour include a trip to McNabs. See you on the water!”
