Milltown Bar and Grill

Last weekend while checking out the facilities at the Milltown Marina, I happened upon the Milltown Bar and Grill. What a surprise! We had one of the best pub meals ever.

Opened in 2014 and situated on Richmond Island, Milltown Bar & Grill is the only restaurant in the lower mainland that has two unique waterfront patios. With their rustic Westcoast décor, you’ll enjoy an intimate/cozy dining experience with expansive views.

Milltown Bar and Grill Inside

Milltown is situated on its own island in the Fraser River. A highlight is its two patios; one facing the Marina and the other facing the Fraser River and YVR airport’s landing strip. The West-coast décor can be seen in the walls, which are made out of 100-year-old reclaimed local Douglas Fir wood. Double-sided fireplaces made out of brushed stainless-steel contrast against the white subway tiles and massive rope chandeliers. A dropped ceiling above the bar features local wood that was torched, literally set on fire to give its rustic look. “It’s rustic, industrial, nautical all mixed together. It’s really creates a cozy and inviting space.” admits Scott McVicker, co-Owner of Milltown.

Milltown DrystackOwners McVicker and Paddy Gallagher pride themselves on the friendly staff and affordable food and drinks in a laid-back atmosphere. “With brunch on the weekends, lunch features every day, and entertainment in the evenings; this is the place to go for Richmondites and Vancouverites”, adds Gallagher.

Milltown Marina

Since their grand opening on March 15, 2014 Milltown Marina has exceeded all expectations and brought the very best boating experience to their clients.

Vancouver’s newest marina is located in Vancouver’s historic Marpole neighbourhood, just south of Granville Street and SW Marine Drive. This ideal location provides boaters with an easily accessible and convenient moorage facility.

Milltown Marina is located six nautical miles from where the mouth of the North Arm of the Fraser River meets the Southern Strait of Georgia. The location is perfect for fast and easy access to recreational boating waters. They can accommodate boats from 10 to 80 feet with their first class in water moorage as well as their drystack facility!

The Milltown Marina is designed to incorporate Transport Canada’s environmental best practices while creating a state-of-the-art recreational boating facility.

The Milltown Marina community includes repair and maintenance facility, marine store, yacht sales and a full-service restaurant. Milltown Marina also offers transient moorage.

If you are new to boating don’t worry, Captain Matthew would be happy to get onboard and show you the ropes on the basics of docking and safe operation of your vessel. One or two informal sessions at no charge will go a long way to make you feel comfortable in enjoying our wonderful coast.

The Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console is a do-it-all kind of boat with a solid sense of style. Centre console designs have been developed for the southern blue water sport fishing enthusiasts (and this boat would raise fish with the best of them) but the Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console offers far more utility and enjoyment than just fishing.

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
