The Sail Canada Women’s Keelboat Championship took place from September 14-17 at the Lunenburg Yacht Club (LYC). Fifteen teams from four provinces spent four full days on the water.

Melodie Gummer’s team from the Kingston Yacht Club took the Championship for the second year in a row. Two teams from LYC took second and third. Judy Lugar, who was also on the winning team during Sonar Worlds last week skipped the second-place team, and Leslie Taylor was the third-place skip.

Some of the days started with light wind and fog, but the wind always filled in and the sun always came out, which made for four days of great racing.

The teams used RaceQs to track their courses, and much analysis took place after each day. You can watch the replays online here: http://raceqs.com/regattas/60744

ENVGO NV1: Back to the Future

By Andy Adams

Up to this point, I feel that most electric boats have not been very exciting. The motors have been mainly small portable models for dinghies. There are some high-horsepower motors available, but they look like regular outboard motors to be used on conventional boats. Canada’s Superior: the North Shore

Story and photos by Jennifer M. Smith

Since then we’ve repowered, installed Starlink, and retired from work. Now, with confidence in our engine and our connectivity and more time to sail, we were Superior-ready.
