Women’s Keelboat at Lunenburg Yacht Club

The Sail Canada Women’s Keelboat Championship took place from September 14-17 at the Lunenburg Yacht Club (LYC). Fifteen teams from four provinces spent four full days on the water.

Melodie Gummer’s team from the Kingston Yacht Club took the Championship for the second year in a row. Two teams from LYC took second and third. Judy Lugar, who was also on the winning team during Sonar Worlds last week skipped the second-place team, and Leslie Taylor was the third-place skip.

Some of the days started with light wind and fog, but the wind always filled in and the sun always came out, which made for four days of great racing.

5th – Timma Flanagan, Dayna Nelder, Rachel Erskine, Elizabeth Rouget (RCYC)
