The Sail Canada Women’s Keelboat Championship took place from September 14-17 at the Lunenburg Yacht Club (LYC). Fifteen teams from four provinces spent four full days on the water.

Melodie Gummer’s team from the Kingston Yacht Club took the Championship for the second year in a row. Two teams from LYC took second and third. Judy Lugar, who was also on the winning team during Sonar Worlds last week skipped the second-place team, and Leslie Taylor was the third-place skip.

Some of the days started with light wind and fog, but the wind always filled in and the sun always came out, which made for four days of great racing.

The teams used RaceQs to track their courses, and much analysis took place after each day. You can watch the replays online here: http://raceqs.com/regattas/60744

The Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console is a do-it-all kind of boat with a solid sense of style. Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
