May 26, 27 and 28, 2017. Enjoy 3 full days on the water on Western Lake Ontario aboard National 1D’s fleet of Flying Tiger 7.5s and quickly raise your performance race skills in time for the 2017 regatta season. There’s no need to travel south to take advantage of one of Bill Gladstone’s highly sought after and renowned North U. on-water racing clinics.

This is only the Second time In Canada! Climb abord1D Sailing’s fleet of ten Flying Tiger 7.5’s in Oakville for an intensive on the water educational experience.

The boats will be in the water fully rigged, tuned and ready to go. At the event, Bill Gladstone of North U will be on hand with his team of professional coaches and will run one of his famous two day clinics. Together with his coaches, Bill will teach you to be a better and more knowledgeable racer through on water drills and expert coaching followed by daily de-briefs.

Following the Clinic, you will then participate in a major regatta with your Coach. The teaching continues throughout the regatta with daily de-briefs. It’s a win/win.

The Erie Canal – An Extraordinary Waterway

As I shift our chartered canal boat into neutral, I’m soothed by the soundtrack of bird calls, the occasional plaintive horn of a distant train and the hum of our engine.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
