The Schooner Cove Yacht Club is situated between Nanaimo and Parksville, on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Members of Schooner Cove enjoy racing and cruising for twelve months of the year.

Racing is a great way to learn about the intricacies and joy of sailing. Their inclusive racing program welcomes all sailors, whether novice or experienced. You’ll find competitive series and regattas as well as fun racing.

SCYC has an active social program and features casual activities on the dock and organized events. The Speaker Series engages members through presentations and discussions on a wide range of boating topics.

Members join SCYC cruises to experience the best of the coastal waters and enjoy the camaraderie of cruising with a group.. SCYC has a large reciprocal program with many other yacht clubs.

SCYC Cruising Stations has a new Cruising Station at John Henry’s Resort & Marina

One of the key benefits as a member of Schooner Cove Yacht Club is access to limited free moorage at each of their five Cruising Stations. Cruising Stations include Genoa Bay Marina, Ladysmith Maritime Society Community Marina, Garden Bay Hotel And Marina (Located In Pender Harbour), John Henry’s Resort And Marina (also located in Pender Harbour) and Gorge Harbour Marina Resort on Cortes Island.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
