Schooner Columbia Visiting NS This Summer

Columbia

Feb 20, 2017

We hear from Rochelle, at the Nova Scotia Schooner Association (NSSA) that the 131’ schooner Columbia (the reproduction, out of Panama City Florida) will be joining the NSSA for race week in Shelburne this summer. She has an amazing story going back to the racing days of the original Bluenose.

Although Columbia was built in Florida she has plenty of Nova Scotia content, as her spars were made by Covey Island Boatworks and her sails by Michele Stevens Sailloft. Rochelle also said they are 95% sure that the Covey Island built 71’ Tree of Life and Spirit of Bermuda (www.bermudasloop.org) will be joining Spirit Of Bermudathem. Both of those schooners also have amazing stories.
