Final Day of the CORK International Optimist Regatta

2015 Cork Regatta

 

Third and final day of the CORK International Optimist Regatta. In 5-7 knots from the East, the red/white/blue fleet completed three races today, finishing the regatta with a total of 8 races. The green fleet completed 4 races today, for a total of 14 races. Congratulations to all the green fleet sailors for finishing their first regatta.

In the white fleet, Charlie Gonzalez, United States, placed first, followed by Gavin Webster, United States, in 2nd, and James Hume, Canada, in 3rd. Michael Kirkman, United States, finished 1st in the blue fleet and 4th overall. Thomas Staples, Canada, placed 2nd in the blue fleet and Jackson Macaulay, Canada, 3rd. Adam Larson, Bermuda, finished first in the red fleet and 1st overall. He was followed by top Canadian Galen Richardson in 2nd and Eric Omielan in 3rd.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
