You will eventually get water into your diesel fuel tank. Could be condensation, a leaky filler tube or from the marina where you fuel up. It is not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’. Craig Morley explains the purpose and installation of the water separation filter and it’s proper maintenance. A bit of preparedness will safe you hours (or days) of grief. Craig is a certified marine surveyor, diesel technician and is certified by ABYC. We caught up with Craig at a Diesel Maintenance workshop he was conducting at the Mimico Cruising Club in Mississauga, ON.
