FLIR Systems, Inc. has announced the release of the new Raymarine eS Series line of HybridTouch™ multifunction displays. Powered by Raymarine’s advanced LightHouse II user interface, the eS Series includes three high-performance navigation displays that offer unprecedented control and ease-of-use in a sleek, ergonomic design.

The eS Series with HybridTouch™ gives captains the choice of simple touch screen interaction or full control using the sculpted keypad and multifunction rotary controller. The keypad provides enhanced tactile feel, while the multifunction controller offers precise menu and cursor control, especially when navigating through rough conditions. Captains can also access eS Series displays from their smartphone or tablet anywhere on board using eS Series’ integrated Wi-Fi and Raymarine mobile apps.

The eS Series features a choice of 7”, 9” and 12” displays, each with an attractive, glass bridge-style design that blends seamlessly with today’s modern helm stations, allowing for both low profile console and a completely recessed flush mounting option.

“From both software and hardware perspective, we engineered the Raymarine eS Series to deliver a simple, yet powerful user experience” says Grégoire Outters, Vice President and General Manager of FLIR Maritime. “Users will immediately enjoy the responsive HybridTouch interaction, and our intuitive LightHouse II user interface allows both new boaters and experienced mariners to master eS Series quickly”

Raymarine’s most advanced multifunction displays, eS Series features optional CHIRP DownVision™ technology and industry-leading vector and raster chart support from Navionics, C-MAP by Jeppesen, and Raymarine’s expanding library of LightHouse charts. The eS Series also feature a built-in 10Hz GPS/GLONASS receiver for the fast position updates and ultra-fast satellite acquisition.

Captains can also customize their eS Series system with high performance network sensors, including HD Color radar, professional CHIRP sonar, IP video, and thermal night vision.  The eS Series can expand even further with support for multiple displays, Evolution autopilot control, entertainment, engine, and digital switching integration options.

Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
