From the Family of Hans Fogh…

“To all Sailors,

On March 14, 2014 Hans Fogh passed away of Cruetzfeld Jakob Disease. The Fogh Family would like to thank everyone for their support and donations to the Hans Fogh Fund over the past year.

Sailing lost a true friend. One of Hans’ lasting legacies was his joy of helping others enjoy our great sport.  In particular, he enjoyed watching and helping the youth sailors of today. The Hans Fogh Fund continues his legacy.

The Hans Fogh Fund was established in December 2009 in association with Ontario Sailing. All donations to The Fund will be held in trust by a designated Trust or Financial Institution and investment returns will be used to support development of young and upcoming athletes, as recommended by the board of directors and approved by the Fogh family.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:
