And The Pink Boat Tour Rides Until October 5th

Andre Naden Opening

The PINK Boat Tour, was created by Andre Lamothe in March 2013 as a way of marketing Naden Boats while supporting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Because each Naden Boat is individually painted with an electrostatic process, Andre was able to paint one single 14’ Naden Fisherman – hot PINK. He packaged it together with a 15hp Tohatsu outboard and Yacht Club trailer and along with the  Ontario Naden Boat Dealers took it on the road. That summer, the little PINK boat travelled several thousand kilometers to over 14 events in Northern Ontario where participating Naden dealers sold raffle tickets at marina and community events.

AndreThe 2013 tour raised $19,500.

With his untimely death, Andre will not see the 2014 tour to the end.  Andre’s family have requested that any memorial tributes be made to The PINK Boat Tour. All donations will be gratefully acknowledged and accepted until October 5th and can be made via Nadenboats.com/pink-boat-tour or The PINK Boat Tour team page.. http://www.runforthecure.com/site/TRteam_id=84244&fr_id=1877&pg=team

Andre’s leadership and energy is what transformed The PINK Boat Tour from a single marketing event – into a passion. On September 7th, Andre single-handedly sold $850 worth of tickets at Temagami’s Grampstock – a one night event of old time rock music. Andre was an ardent support of the Canadian recreational marine industry and a huge supporter of Northern
Ontario.

He will be missed.

By Andy Adams

Some are day cruisers; some are centre console fishing boats or designed for tow sports. A new live-aboard cabin boat has become a rare item these days.

So when I heard that Pride Marine in Orillia, Ontario, had a Nimbus 365 Coupe in the water, I jumped at the chance to get out on it.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

By Zuzana Prochaska

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:

…you understand now why you came this way.
