Skyline Marina’s Aquapalooza 2012 event is fast approaching!!! On Saturday July 21/12, from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, please join the Skyline Marina Team for an ON-WATER PARTY at Papoose Bay, located on the southern end of Beausoleil Island, Georgian Bay. AQUAPALOOZA is an invitation to ALL boaters and promises to be a fun-filled family day on the water with water activities for the kids and fantastic prize giveaways. The Erie Canal – An Extraordinary Waterway

As I shift our chartered canal boat into neutral, I’m soothed by the soundtrack of bird calls, the occasional plaintive horn of a distant train and the hum of our engine.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
