Northern Lights To Feature New M1306 Series Genset At 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

Genset M1306

Northern Lights will feature its latest innovation in clean, efficient marine power generation – the M1306A32 – at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 31-November 4 at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center (Engine Tent booth 1228 and Yachting Tent booth 621).

The M1306A32 is one of a new series generator set configurations, boasting kilowatt ratings from 355 to 400 at 60 Hz and 300 to 400 at 50 Hz, greatly expanding the Northern Lights marine generator product range.

“Northern Lights is pleased to offer the M1306 series to a new, larger category of vessels,” said Northern Lights Director of Marketing Colin Puckett. “These larger vessels can now experience the same reliability and durability they have come to trust from Northern Lights in a clean, modern package that meets their larger power consumption needs,” he added.

Northern Lights’ M1306A12, M1306A22 and M1306A32 are based on world-class components – including heavy duty engine blocks and permanent magnet generators. An M1306 set achieves high torque and smooth operation with an electronically controlled high-pressure unit injection fuel system that permits individual control in each cylinder. This technology optimizes engine efficiency, resulting in low exhaust emissions and superior fuel economy.

The M1306 series generator set is built into the Northern Lights revolutionary base frame design for a low-profile, clean, compact package sure to compliment any engine room. Northern Lights world class sound enclosures and compound mounts further enhance the comfort and enjoyment onboard by greatly reducing the transmission of noise and vibration.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
