Smartplug Gains CE Certification

Smart Plug CE Cert

Shore power manufacturer SmartPlug Systems received CE certification for the European markets. A CE marking on a product shows that it conforms to one or more EU product directives. The certification was completed by HPi Verification Services.

“This opens the door for boaters overseas to fit their vessels with SmartPlug connectors,” said Ken Smith, SmartPlug founder and CEO. “Although we have previously worked with international boatbuilders, we are looking forward to extending SmartPlug’s reach into this market even further.”

The SmartPlug shore power system is designed to provide greater protection against loose connections and corrosion, the leading causes of shore power failure and fires. It also features three fully weatherproof seals, a multi-point locking system and straight-in connection and blades with 20x more contact area than the traditional style.
