En France, Jean Le Cam et Yannick Bestaven reçoivent la Légion d’honneur

Yannick Bestaven, vainqueur du Vendée Globe, et Jean Le Cam, 4e du tour du monde et auteur du sauvetage de Kevin Escoffier, ont été promus le 14 juillet dernier au grade de chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.

Comme on l’a rapporté dans Ouest-France, « Ils font partie des 467 personnalités distinguées ce 14 juillet. Yannick Bestaven et Jean Le Cam ont été promus en ce jour de Fête nationale chevalier de la Légion d’honneur par le ministère de la Mer.

« Yannick Bestaven, 48 ans, vainqueur du Vendée Globe 2020-2021 reçoit cette distinction au titre de « chef d’une entreprise spécialisée dans la conception d’hydrogénérateurs ». Quant à Jean Le Cam, 62 ans, (à gauche sur la photo) 4e du tour du monde et auteur du sauvetage périlleux de Kevin Escoffier, naufragé au cap de Bonne-Espérance, il reçoit le titre honorifique en tant que « navigateur ».

« Les deux skippers rejoignent ainsi le club des gradés qui compte déjà des marins dont, parmi eux, François Gabart ou encore Armel Le Cléac’h, décorés pour leur victoire sur le Vendée Globe en 2013 et 2017 ».
