Dealer Letter: From Muskoka to Finland: Mobile Marine Becomes First Yamarin Dealer

By December in Muskoka, the lakes are starting to freeze, the boats are put away, and the season has ended. But this past December looked a little different for us. While everything at the dealership was wrapped up for the season, Josh and Emily, owners of Mobile Marine, found themselves on the water, off the coast of Finland.

So how did we get there? Over the summer, we started noticing a pattern. We were hearing more requests for boats with outboards, easier maintenance, and a better overall price point. And in some cases, we did not have the right fit.
What we found pretty quickly was that this was not a simple gap to fill. We spent time digging into different options and reaching out to partners to see what might be out there that we hadn’t considered yet. Yamaha Motor Canada has been a great partner of ours for years; they pointed us toward a line of boats that checked all the boxes—but they weren’t built in North America. They were built in Finland. As we have seen, Scandinavian boats are winning a lot of friends in Canada, so why not.
That immediately caught our attention. Josh’s family has deep roots in Finland. His mom and grandparents immigrated to Canada in the 1960s, and that connection has always been an important part of his family’s story. So, when the opportunity came up, it felt more than just a business decision. We could have brought the boats in and hoped for the best but that is not how we operate, so we decided to make the trip.
Yamaha Canada connected us with INHA Works, part of Yamaha Motor Europe, and the builder behind three brands: Buster, Yamarin, and Cross. We landed in Helsinki in early December. The days were short, only about six hours of daylight, but the city was bright with Christmas lights. While Josh had been to Finland many times to visit family, this was Emily’s first time experiencing it.
We spent time with family, saw parts of the city tied to Josh’s grandfather, and made our way to Turku, where he had completed his military service years ago.
Just outside of Turku is Raisio, where INHA is based.
The INHA team gave us a full tour of their facility. One highlight, something that felt very Finnish, was the sauna right in the office!

Even though it was December, winter had not fully arrived yet. No snow, just rain and strong winds. Perfect conditions to see what these boats could really do. On our second day, we headed out onto the Baltic Sea. Bundled up in rain gear and mitts, we got a chance to run boats from each of the three brands.
The Buster boats, built from welded aluminum, delivered a ride that was far quieter and smoother than what we typically see in North America. We ran a Buster SuperMagnum with a Yamaha 350HP, and even at over 50 mph, we could still carry on a conversation without raising our voices.
The Cross boats offered something unique—a hybrid design with an aluminum hull for durability and a fiberglass top deck for a more refined feel inside the cockpit. It’s a combination that makes a lot of sense for our customers who want both function and comfort.
The Yamarin lineup brought a different feel again. Smooth, stable, and clean in design, these fiberglass boats handled rough water with ease. Across the board, the stability stood out—something that’s hard to fully appreciate until you’re out in it.

A few things consistently stood out across all three brands:
• Intuitive infotainment systems that are simple and clean to use, regardless of experience level
• Windshield designs that noticeably improve comfort for everyone on board
• Clean, functional construction focused on performance
• Durable materials with a distinct Nordic design
• Fully self-draining layouts for added convenience
After our time on the water, it was clear, these boats were not just different; they solved the exact gaps we had been seeing back home in Muskoka.
We are excited to be bringing Yamarin to Mobile Marine, with our first four boats arriving at the end of April 2026. The lineup includes the 46SC powered by a Yamaha 50HP, a 50BR with a Yamaha 60HP, the 59BR powered by the new Yamaha 130HP, and a 63BR with a Yamaha 150HP and digital electronic controls.
These boats will range from approximately $38,000 to $98,000, and we feel they offer a strong balance of quality, design, and performance for the price point. They are also a great fit for a wide range of customers. Cottage owners will appreciate the durability and self-draining design, while first-time buyers will find them approachable, safe, and not overly complicated. With multiple sizes and horsepower options, they cover a lot of different needs.
These are not the boats you’ll see everywhere on the lake, and for some people, that matters. They want something that stands out, not just in how it looks, but in how it performs. This summer, you will be able to see them on the water around Muskoka and Huntsville. We will also be offering demo rides to qualified buyers who want to experience them firsthand.
For us, this started with listening to our customers and ended with us halfway across the world, making sure we found the right fit. Now we are looking forward to getting these boats on the water here at home and seeing what you think.
