M37 Power Cat

June 26, 2025

The European M37 power catamaran is heading our way. Built in Poland by Makai the boat now has a US dealer and eyes on this market.

M37 Power Cat

The M37 is quite a looker and delivers power catamaran fuel-efficiency and an unprecedented helming experience. It features two distinct and refined cabin spaces, with layouts suitable for couples cruising and families alike, and an enormous deck space fit to entertain 12.

Makai M37

This is a performance cruiser: up to combined 740 horsepower, along with a new and unique super low-drag catamaran design, enables a 38-knot top speed. Propellers are spaced farther apart than on a monohull – making them more efficient and providing greater twisting force when manoeuvring in tight spaces. Add in joystick control and this boat is simple to drive, and even more simple to dock.

The M37 has a full standing headroom in two beautiful staterooms. Both have double beds, and for families there’s even the option of a double bed with additional singles for extra kids and guests. Each cabin has its own shower, sink and electric flush toilet.

Pontoon boats began in the early 1950s as basically four steel drums lashed to a frame. They were not unlike the log rafts of ancient cultures and not much more sophisticated at first.

The Best of Two Worlds

By Mathew Channer

Interior British Columbia might not be as famous for recreational boating as Canada’s Great Lakes, yet it is no less a world-class boating destination. The mountains offer their own flavour of marine adventure with their series of long, deep ribbon lakes, and there is perhaps no area that embodies this more uniquely than the iconic Okanagan basin in southern B.C. One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
