Festivals: The Tugs are Coming to Midland

The 2024 Georgian Bay Tugboat Festival will be held at the Midland Town Harbour 10am-5pm August 17, 2024 with free admission to the all events.. 

This family friendly day will have lots of fun activities, including a tug race, tug demonstrations, and a tug push contest. Hundreds of visitors will join us for live music, buskers, face painting, and vendors! Select tugboats will be open for tours in the afternoon. The tugboat parade of lights to be held on Friday August 16 at dusk.

While you are here, we hope you don’t miss the Northern Heat Rib Series Midland Rib and Beer Fest in Harbourside Park August 16th – 18th with live music and carnival food favourites.

The festival will also feature a Midway Carnival where visitors of all ages will enjoy rides, games and fun foods such as cotton candy, deep fried candy bars, and funnel cakes!

“The Light Parade of tugs is on Saturday at 9 p.m. and is always a highlight of the festival,” says Nicole Major, tourism and special events planner for the Town of Midland.
