Cruisers Yachts has been building boats for more than 70 years with a particular focus on The Great Lakes, coastal cruising and our Canadian market’s needs and tastes.
As tastes evolve and people refine their expectations for their boating experiences, Cruisers Yachts is ready to deliver. Their new 38 VTR EC brings cutting-edge style and features with the qualities that have made Cruisers Yachts an industry leader for so many years.
All-weather Enjoyment
In recent times, yachting men and women have come to expect new levels of both speed and sea-keeping in support of the trends to day boating. People want to get to their destination quickly and in the greatest comfort. When overcast, cool summer mornings become perfect sunny afternoons, or memorable sunsets, the Cruisers Yachts 38 VTR EC lets you make the most of your special occasions regardless of the weather with its enclosed cabin.
Take advantage of the latest in high-horsepower outboard engines and options for the VTR . Focus on quiet, efficient performance with twin Mercury Verado outboard engines starting with twin 300hp V8 models.
These high-tech engines deliver 46mph speeds and a range of around 200 miles, so you can get to your destination quickly to get the good times started with your family and friends. For even more performance, order the optional Mercury Verado V10 400s. This 400hp 10-cylinder design provides amazing power with a smooth delivery and a subtle, but authoritative exhaust note. (Power steering is included. JMercury Joystick Piloting System is optional)

Comfort and Adventure
The VTR is designed around the social side of life and comfort for everyone. Both of the VTR models give comfortable seating and an almost 360-degree view when travelling with lots of glass area, minimal obstruction from roof supports and decks, and an inverted windshield that shades the helm, minimizes raindrops and adds a more spacious feel to the interior. A 9-inch Simrad display is standard (up to twin 15-inch displays are available). Cruisers Yachts designed the VTR to have features and choices to keep up with the lifestyles of various owners.
All VTR models have a single-level deck and roof structure with a standard port-side beach door that folds out for sunning and swimming, expanding the cockpit floor. The swim platforms include a deep ladder on the port side. There is plenty of open space for movement aboard, and room for activities like swimming, diving, and wake sports. Wide side decks and high gunwales make getting around easy and secure.
Every VTR model has an enclosed forward cabin with convertible dinette/berth and seating, an overhead skylight, and an enclosed wet head with shower for everyone’s comfort. All models also have a starboard-side wet bar in the cockpit with optional Kenyon electric grill to fuel the fun.
In the bow, the VTR models have plush, wrap-around seating, storage, high sides with bow rails, cup holders and a cocktail table. From there, many optional choices allow owners to tailor their VTR to their tastes.

Hull and Design
Cruisers Yachts have come up with a yacht that embraces the latest adventure-centric styling and performance features with a double-stepped hull for speed and seakeeping and an almost vertical bow shape to bridge the waves, while still championing the very solid North American construction standards for both safety and longevity.
At the heart of the VTR is an innovative hybrid stepped hull, developed in collaboration with DLBA Naval Architects. Purpose-built for stability and performance, the hull offers smooth handling, quiet operation, and superior sight lines.
“The VTR’s hull is a masterclass in balance,” says Christopher Swanhart, PMP, Director of Recreational Boats at DLBA Naval Architects. “We engineered it to deliver efficiency, predictable response, and a smooth, stable ride in all conditions, so owners feel secure and in control.”
Cruisers Yachts offers seven different exterior colour schemes and black or white engine colours to personalize your VTR.

38 VTR EC
The 38 VTR EC model designation stands for “Enclosed Cabin”. The main deck accommodations have excellent outward vision and cruising comfort for everyone, plus protection from the elements and with available reverse-cycle air-conditioning and climate control for extended season comfort. Port and starboard sliding side doors give flexible access and an open-air experience when you want it.
To tailor your VTR EC to your preferences, you have choices in the layout features. You can have the spacious cockpit left open for swimming and other activities. Or, choose the aft bench seat. Either version has aft-facing storage with an optional ice-maker or optional refrigerator. Another choice is the very large sunlounge that encloses a storage locker that measures 75” long by 72” wide and more than 24” deep. Dive gear, inflatable boats, portable motors and many other things will fit in easily. Cruisers Yachts’ design team also anticipated accommodating a wide range of recreational gear like kayaks, bicycles and other equipment by offering an optional Thule roof rack.
For more overnight accommodation and longer cruises, you can choose an aft cabin with a queen berth. What a great option for owners who want to explore further afield, or for longer adventures!
The 38 VTR EC is an important new model for Cruisers Yachts to deliver their well-known quality and value to owners who want to enjoy adventures exploring the world’s waters.
Look out for a more detailed performance review in a future issue but for now, here is the topline on a significant new adventure yacht from Cruisers Yachts.
