Vancouver Island’s premiere in-water boat show, the 2013 Victoria Harbour Boat Show, returns to the pristine waters of Victoria’s Inner Harbour, April 18 – 21, 2013.

Hosted by the British Columbia Yacht Brokers Association, the 23rd Annual Show is the place to get great deals on all your boating needs, just in time for the 2013 boating season.

It’s A Full House of Boats

Ontario’s premier boat show, the Port Credit In-Water Boat Show, is celebrating 21 years August 26-28, 2011. It will be staged once again, at the Port Credit Harbour Marina – The Boating Super Centre, Mississauga, ON.

The Port Credit In-Water Boat Show is the ONLY boat show that features both new AND used power and sailboats in-the-water and on-the-hard.

C.A.S. Power Marine Ltd, exhibiting at the show for the first time, will be showcasing three new power boats – the 2011 Formula 350 SS, 2011 Starcraft 2119 and the 2012 Starcraft 22CSX (I/O). On the sale side, C&L Boatworks will be exhibiting the CL14 and CL11 – small, trailerable sailboats that are designed and manufactured in the Fort Erie plant.

Time for a Greener Choice in Boating Anodes

When it comes to making environmentally friendly choices, the tradeoff is not always paying more for something that doesn’t work as well. Boat owners seeking a “greener” sacrificial anode have an option that works better than the old, familiar zinc versions while costing less: aluminum anodes.

Aluminum is a far better environmental anode choice than zinc.  Though zinc is a heavy metal—not particularly desirable to have in excess quantities in water—the bigger concern is with the percentage of cadmium that zinc anodes must contain in order to work as anodes.

Cadmium is a nasty heavy metal, with its use and disposal becoming increasingly restricted and regulated.  In anodes, it’s of considerable concern to scientists studying estuarial pollution and its inevitable presence in aquatic life, especially once in the human food chain.

MarineMax Launches New Vacation Charter Company

MarineMax Inc., North America's largest recreational boat and yacht retailer, is proud to announce the introduction of MarineMax Vacations, a charter program offering premium sail and power yacht vacations. As part of the program, the Company will also be offering a yacht ownership program for the charter fleet.
