53 Teams at LOOR LO 300 Challenge

Since its inception the Lake Ontario 300 has grown in both crew allowance and race length. While there are still double-handed and solo entries, there are a number of boats that race fully-crewed. Both the full and optional shorter course run through entirely Canadian waters.
A total of 53 teams took part in the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge Race held July 11 at the Port Credit Yacht Club on the Main Duck or Scotch Bonnet Courses. A mix of light air for days heading followed by heavy blast on the nose heading westward. The resultant times were among the longest recorded. Asked if this was the latest he’s ever finished among his 13 LO300s, Pasquale Leone of ABYC, whose 36.7 Hammertime took 3 days 3.5 hours to finish 2nd to the Tripp 37 Kamikaze in PHRF FC B noted “by far”.
