At this year’s Vancouver Boat Show, many boaters had the same story – water is getting harder to find and that is a major concern when planning their trip. Not knowing if the water source at some strange dock was safe to drink was also an issue.

For some, however, the story is better news; since they installed their watermaker, it has been a “Game Changer” for all of them. They no longer have to haul flats of water to the boat or find space to squirrel it away in. They don’t have to leave their dock with a full water tank and pay the extra fuel cost of hauling that extra tonnage up to their destination. They can now make their own clean safe water without having to constantly plan around it.

EDS Marine 2 400The new Zen series of watermaker by Schenker, offers several advantages over conventional water makers. The Zen series can produce from 30 litres to 500 litres per hour, operates on 12 or 24 volts DC and can draw as little as 110 watts! That is up to 80% less power consumption than conventional watermakers. All units come in kit form for easy installation.

Boaters who are tired of lugging water bottles or scheduling your boating trip looking for safe, available water, take a look at the next generation of water makers. Contact EDS Marine, the Canadian Distributor and service centre for Schenker Water Makers.

Hiding Out in Belize

Dodging holiday havoc in the tropics

Getting out of town was top-of-mind as it was only November and I was already saturated with Christmas traditions – the music, the glitter, the cookies, the sales. A week in relatively remote Belize was the siren song so we booked a 45-foot catamaran with The Moorings and packed our bags.
