Sneak Peak: Bavaria S36 HT

June 13, 2019

The Canadian Yachting test crew last week had the opportunity to run the Bavaria S36 HT at St Mathias Marine, the new Dealer for Bavaria Power Yachts in Ontario in Port Credit. This is an impressive express cruiser that will have great appeal for couples, or young families and the boat seems to offer excellent value, especially considering that it features German quality from an experienced and highly respected builder.

The Bavaria S36 HT provides surprising accommodation for a 36-footer with a private forward cabin that includes an extendable queen berth. Then there is a mid-cabin with two single births that can convert to a queen and in addition, the dinette on the bridge deck level can be made into a berth. If you find yourself with a big crowd, our test boat had the camper back canvas option and the aft bench seat and substantial high-low table enables you to make up yet another sleeping area there!

Our test boat had a very complete galley on the starboard side of the lower deck and then a second refrigerator in the bridge deck refreshments area.

Powered by Volvo Penta Duoprop D4 220 sterndrives, the boat performed very well with a solid ride and confidence inspiring handling. Joystick docking was also included on the test boat; a feature that any new owner would appreciate. With a top speed of 36 mph and a comfortable cruising speed of 31 mph at 3600 RPM, this is a handsome yacht that can really take a boat load of family and friends on a great adventure.

Watch for a full review coming soon in Canadian Yachting!

Centre console designs have been developed for the southern blue water sport fishing enthusiasts (and this boat would raise fish with the best of them) but the Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console offers far more utility and enjoyment than just fishing.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
