Tropic Ocean Airways and The Moorings: Fly & Sail Seaplane and Catamaran in the Bahamas

Mooring in the Bahamas

Mar 22, 2018

When it’s cool here at home we love to charter down south. The problem often is that getting to the charter base often requires multiple connections and more time than you might hope.

Now The Moorings has partnered with Tropic Ocean Airways, a seaplane operator in the eastern United States, to offer a smart travel experience to for boaters chartering in the Bahamas.

The Fly & Sail service reserves a private flight directly to the desired Bahamas destination out of Tropic Moorings in BahamasOcean Airways’ lounge at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport’s private FBO, Sheltair or the Miami Seaplane Base – centrally located between downtown Miami and South Beach on Watson Island. Upon arrival, the private Moorings sail or power charter will be prepped and ready to go in the unspoiled Abacos or Exumas.

The experience begins with a greeting from the Tropic Ocean Airways dedicated lounge staff, who assist with everything from valet parking to baggage handling, followed by a greeting from two personal pilots before taking flight on the private seaplane. Then, less than 90 minutes later, passengers arrive at one of two charter bases in the Bahamas – Nassau or Marsh Harbour, where they will be welcomed by The Moorings staff.

All Tropic Ocean Airways’ flights to and from the Bahamas feature premium seating for up to eight passengers aboard an air-conditioned two-pilot crewed Cessna aircraft with luxury interiors.

Fly & Sail can be booked by emailing reservations@flytropic.com or over the phone by calling 1.954.210.5569 or 1.800.767.0897
