LOOR at TIBS: Offshore Racing – Making it to the FINISH Line

Lake Ontario Offshore Racing announces that Brent Hughes, lifelong sailor from Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club in Pickering ON, is presenting Offshore Racing – Making it to the FINISH Line at the 2018 Toronto International Boat Show.

Many people say that getting to the start line is 80% of long-distance offshore sailboat racing. But, how will you make sure you make it to the FINISH line? Brent Hughes discusses many of the key aspects of making it around the course, and successfully to the finish line, whether you’re sailing Solo, Double Handed, or Fully Crewed.

Brent HughesLake Ontario Offshore Racing (LOOR) of the Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC) is dedicated to bringing the offshore sailboat racing experience to Lake Ontario. This is accomplished with its running of the Lake Ontario 300/600 Challenge Races (LO300/LO600), including the Solo Challenge, the Susan Hood Trophy Race (SHTR) and the Lake Ontario Short Handed Racing Series (LOSHRS) offshore sailboat races. This is augmented by LOOR’s educational series throughout the Lake Ontario basin and promotion of other activities related to offshore racing. A key focus of LOOR is the safety of offshore racing.
