In this column we have looked at apps for marine navigation as well as several racing and simulation apps. This time instead of focusing on mastering the elements around our boat we are looking in at an app that helps you organize and maintain your equipment and supplies.
The new ShipShape app by Intelligent Maintenance, rereleased in November, is now available for use on iPads and iPhones and most Android devices. The app is free to download for people to try on a limited entry basis and can be fully accessed with a 12 month in-app purchase of $9.99USD.
A place for everything and everything…where? No more fumbling around looking for that spare part or needed item, just open the app and let it tell you where you tucked it away for safe keeping. There a wide variety of features available, including the ability to take a full inventory of every single item on your boat and record exactly where it is located. Or if you can’t remember what you had left in terms of equipment and supplies from your last trip, as long as you remembered to update the information you will always be able to remember what is on your boat when packing for your next adventure.
The app is great whether you are a weekend boater or experienced mariner headed out to sea. Pro includes the features of the standard ShipShape app, but adds a comprehensive suite of maintenance features. And for those considering the upgrade, users can transfer their existing data from ShipShape to ShipShape Pro.
However, because of Pro’s more comprehensive design the cost for the app for one boat is $29.99USD, but can be upgraded to a package for 5 boats ($129.99USD) or 10 ($239.99USD).

The ability to have a predictive maintenance task list and receive reminders will help to keep your boat in top condition.
