Nov 23, 2017

The awards banquet to celebrate the winners from the 2017 Lake Ontario Offshore Racing Lake Ontario 300 Challenge and the Susan Hood Trophy Race, was held at Port Credit Yacht Club on Saturday, November 11th. Overall it was a rewarding evening with amazing food, great service and excellent camaraderie.

The trophy recipients received the new ‘keeper plaques’, a designed aluminium plaque that can be easily adhered to the inside of the boat cabin so it can be admired by everyone who visits or sails on your boat.

During the evening a special presentation was made to Brent Hughes – Honoured to be a member of the Main Duck Club. Brent is a long-time competitor, a champion and the driving force behind our solo and LO600 divisions. Sperry Cup Rings were also awarded to Durk Stenginga and Marc Doedens for superb past achievements.

LO300 and Susan Hood LogoThis year’s banquet was also the official announcement that Drive HG is continuing as our title sponsor of the Susan Hood Trophy Race and the LO300/600 Challenge. Also announced at this year’s banquet was the welcoming back of Skippers Plan Insurance as a sponsor. Skippers Plan have supported many of our participants during the stormy years and are definitely the people to speak to for your insurance needs. We will have more details on this sponsorship at the upcoming boat show.

Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing you next year to defend your trophies. See all the results here (LO300) and here (SHTR).

Special Note: The LO600 is back in 2018!

Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
