Brentwood Bay Squadron 2017 Cruising Calendar

Brentwood Bay

May 23, 2017

Few cruising grounds in the world can match British Columbia’s coastline for stunning scenery: majestic fjords, half-hidden inlets, and hundreds of islands. And to complete this perfect picture, a temperate climate! Boaters can explore the sheltered waterways and the popular marine parks around Vancouver Island or drop anchor amongst the Gulf Islands.

You’re welcome to join the Brentwood Bay Power Squadron for their summer cruises. This will give you an opportunity to explore the Gulf Islands with a flotilla of experienced boaters.

Ken Swift is the contact at the Brentwood Bay Power squadron for these events. ken.swift@me.com

Reply dates are all 7 days before the start date for the cruise in question.

Note exception: Victoria – Ron Harris Memorial Cruise.

There will be Pancake Breakfasts on Sunday mornings. (volunteers please).

To be part of the group, please make sure to provide your names, emails, boat
length, boat name & cell numbers so I can let the marinas know.

Ken will make the bulk of reservations, but Skippers are responsible to make their own marina bookings. So why not sit down and book the marinas right now? Then it’s done.
You can always cancel if something comes up, but if you wait you may be out of luck!

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

By Mathew Channer

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
