Picture Perfect

This picture is of the vessel Puffins II a 1947 30′ Taylor Craft. This vessel has been the pride of the Frazer Family since she was purchased in 1966 in the Georgian Bay area.

In 1967 we took her to Expo 67 when the high water in the Trent Waterway allowed 25 MPH travel. She has had many a visitor on her including Mr Peter Whittle, the first iconic do it yourself TV show guru of the TV show “Mr Fix It”
My father and I kept her running and in fantastic shape, and in 1998 we had her at the Neptunus Ship yard in St Catherines where she was again totally refurbished by myself and my father. We even had a Neptunus interior applied along with a Bow Thruster (they said it couldn’t be done) and epoxy paints, new wiring, totally refitted.

I heart my boatShe was heartbreakingly sold in 2009 to Mr Lamont in Nova Scotia where she lays today at 44′ 31′ 30″ N and 64′ 00′ 41″ W. as per this current picture. Mr Lamont is with the Bluenose Squadron CP&SS.

It is so nice to see her in all of her glory and overly maintained, the Frazer Family thanks Mr Lamont for keeping her “Picture Perfect”.

Past Commander

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

By Mathew Channer

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
