All of us here in Nova Scotia knew we had a great 2016 on the water and based on the Sail Canada Awards to be handed out February 4, we did!

Peter Wickwire is a finalist for the Roles Sailor of the Year Award.

The Bronze medal winning Sonar team of Paul Tingley (Halifax), Scott Lutes (Mahone Bay) and Logan Campbell (Sask) are also Rolex finalists and will win the Male Sailors of the Year award.

Stuart McCrea will capture the Gerry Roufs award for Offshore Sailor of the Year.

Georgia Lewin-LaFrance is named the Female Youth Athlete of the year. And the Bedford Basin Yacht Club will be recognized with the Learn to Sail Program of the Year award.

Congratulations everyone!
