Iron Wind will be showing some exciting new product at Halifax International Boat Show

Kathryn and Craig Newell owners of Iron Wind Marine located in Bayside just outside Halifax will be showing a couple of new boats that are sure to attract attention.

If you don’t already have large group of friends, you’ll need to get ready to meet lots of new ones if you show up on the lake in the Premier Boundary Waters 270. At 27.5’ overall and powered by a 350 Mercury Verado the 270 has room for you and 19 of your newest best friends If fishing is more your thing, you can check out the Crestliner 2100 Raptor with its all-welded aluminum hull and features such as illuminated centre rod locker, walk-through windshield, 26 gallon stern livewell and 12 gallon bow livewell and a 300 hp Mercury XL Pro Verado.

Iron Wind will also have boats for Regal and Glastron on display.

The Erie Canal – An Extraordinary Waterway

As I shift our chartered canal boat into neutral, I’m soothed by the soundtrack of bird calls, the occasional plaintive horn of a distant train and the hum of our engine.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
