Educational Department Update: Presentations at the Vancouver Conference October 2016

CPS Presentations in Vancouver 2016

As you may be aware the Educational Department normally makes a presentation on Thursday evening at the National AGM. This year the Conference is in Vancouver and I hope that you will be able to join us Thursday evening between 1900 and 2200 for the presentations listed below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1900 – 1915:  Revising the Radar course – Mike Paterson
1920 – 1935:  Renaming some of our courses – Simo Korpisto
1945 – 2115:  Outreach Education: Come and see demonstrations by our various Squadron instructors of how they are using electronic online materials in their teaching:

  • Introduction – Carolyn Reid
  • On Line Transport Canada PCOC Course – Dave Bieman
  • Web-based Self-study PCOC Course – Bill Corcoran
  • On Line Seamanship – Robert Dandurand and Carolyn Reid
  • Introduction to Weather on Moodle – Murray Richmond
  • Electronic Navigation – St.Lawrence College – Simo Korpisto
  • JN Course taught using Go to Meeting – Doug Stewart
  • Conclusion – Carolyn Reid

2140 – 2200: Introduce the New ANEO’s for 2016-17

The Educational Department intends to record the session using a video recorder. If we are successful with this the recording will be posted on the National Web site for any member to view.

Any power point slides used during the presentations will also be posted on the National Web site for members to view.
