The West Bay SonShip 72

Sonship 72

West Bay SonShip is proud to announce a new member to the West Bay family, the all-new 72 Skylounge.

West Bay’s engineers and designers have used the proven 58-foot, hard-chine hull mold, buy widening it by 1.5 feet and lengthening  it by 14 feet. The decks, the house and sky lounge were redesigned with a more modern, stylish look, which incorporated gray-tinted frameless windows. The interior design was also customized to the owner’s preferences, which allowed for larger living spaces. The systems, equipment and performance exceeded expectations.

See website for our newly designed starting platforms of 54, 63, 72, 81 and 100’ yachts. http://www.west-bay.com/our-yachts/

By Mathew Channer

“Standby tack,” Canadian sailor Katy Campbell orders. The crew scrambles over the sheet lines and braces on the deck.

“Three, two, one, tack!”

I wait until the bow turns into the wind and the headsail snaps over, then crawl over the cabin top of Panacea X to the now windward side. The trim team smoothly sheets on the headsail and a competitor vessel shoots past our stern, feet away, as our Solana 45 beats eastward along Antigua’s south coast.
