The ‘experts’ are predicting that the winter of 2015 is going to be as intense in Canada as last year’s, complete with an early start and a late finish and lots of snow.  Record numbers of Canadians set out on both pre-planned and last minute sun vacations in 2014 to try to beat the winter blues.  At Canadian Yachting we are interested to know how you plan to not let winter get you down this year.  It’s always nice to read and dream about cruising and getting away during the winter months but when we are hit with a long, hard season it’s even better to plan a trip.  So what’s your pleasure?

A cruise?  An all inclusive?  A charter getaway with friends?  Are you planning to travel with your spouse, with your family, with your close group of friends?

Catamaran Charter Vacation

Traditional cruises and charters are still very popular with people of all ages.  What you may find surprising is that the vacationer demographic is changing in Canada.  Younger, 20ish to 30ish couples or groups are reaching out to find dynamic, group vacations that are not just your average stay at an all-inclusive resort.  Charter companies are offering more exciting options for young groups of people who want to experience independence but adventure with their vacation dollars.

Did you know that if you charter a catamaran with a group it is not only affordable but you can see the best that the chosen area has to offer?  Stop at the best restaurants and night clubs and take advantage of all of the activities you can handle like kitesurfing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, SCUBA diving, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing or just reading a book as you cruise lazily across the turquoise ocean. This is a great option to consider if you are looking for something a little different in a full-featured, sun-drenched vacation.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
