New products: AkzoNobel introduces Micron CSC-CA

Micron CSC-CA

Feb 10, 2022

The latest addition to the Micron range, Micron CSC-CA, is a multi-seasonal premium antifouling. Micron CSC-CA enhances performance and minimizes paint build-up as a result of its unique Controlled Solubility Copolymer technology.

Providing excellent longevity against all types of algae, weeds, barnacles and other shell fouling, it can be used below the waterline in fresh, salt or brackish water on fiberglass, wood and properly primed metal boat hull and parts.

Boat handling is improved as a result of its controlled polishing, while reduced paint build-up allows for easier reapplication. Its high solids formulation means it’s kinder to the environment – making it easier to achieve film thickness, which in turn reduces VOC emissions. With formulation that can be applied at temperatures as low as 5°C, it provides a welcome boost to boatyard and boater applied productivity in colder months of the year.

Matthew Anzardo, Global Yacht Segment Manager at AkzoNobel Yacht Coatings comments: “With Micron CSC-CA we have again raised the bar. Suitable in all waters for power- and sailboats, it has been engineered to polish at a controlled rate – providing premium multi-season protection against all types of fouling.

Micron CSC-CA is compatible over most antifoulings with a basic prep and is available in gallons with a color choice of black, blue and red.

Canada’s Superior: the North Shore

Since then we’ve repowered, installed Starlink, and retired from work. Now, with confidence in our engine and our connectivity and more time to sail, we were Superior-ready.
