Enhanced Power Roof Systems From Taylor Made
Taylor Made Systems is introducing a new range of glass sunroof systems for the boating industry at the 2014 International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX).
“Taylor Made has been a leading provider of power roof systems for boatbuilders for well over a decade,” said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing, Taylor Made Systems. “Starting in 2014, our engineering team went back to the drawing board. They completely revised our large track system, which is most suitable for larger yachts, with refreshed styling and advanced operation, as well as upgraded construction. For the 2015 model year, we’re expanding the line with a smaller, lighter track system that’s perfect for use in cruisers and small to medium yachts. Simply put, everything is better in these two new systems.”
These sliding glass sunroofs provide a watertight skylight when closed and a fresh-air experience when open. The sleek glass panel presents a clean, seamless appearance with minimal visible framework. The electric control uses 12 or 24V power, and there is an emergency release mechanism for manual operation in case of a loss of power.
“One option that really makes Taylor Made roofs stand above the rest is our built-in, manual pop-up vent,” said Oathout. “It permits the owner to open a smaller vent for limited airflow without needing to actuate the entire roof.
It demonstrates an important point about Taylor Made’s entire product line in general — even with items that have been around for a decade or more, our engineering team is committed to finding new innovations and refining the small details, leading to a better boating experience for the end user and added value for the boatbuilder.”
