Upcycled bags

Ga-Oh (spirit of the winds in Algonquin) creates bags and other items from re-purposed sails.

Natalie Tessier runs her home workshop near the St. Lawrence in Montreal. After a career of many years in arts management, she made a big move four years ago starting her own business striving to make sustainable and creative with employment opportunities.

Each product is made from used sails and canvas that are cut-off from awning and boat covers workshop. In each bags there is a label saying where the sail come from.

Natalie returns a percentage of some sales to athlete like Martin Robitaille

and to other non-profit organization for the environment (1% for the Planet). The company has had events where to give back with the Disabled Sailing Association of Ontario and the association québécoise de voile adaptée.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“I do sail, but not enough. I went from Gaspé to the North of Newfoundland last summer, through the Belle-Isle Detroit, my first night navigation. And saw my first icebergs!

 

 

My family members sail quite a lot around Montreal. Went in the Exumas, Eleuthera, St-Martin… Probably the St-Lawrence this Summer.”
