Marblehead to Halifax the “Grand-daddy” of Ocean Races
The co-chair of the 2015 edition of the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race, David Stanfield likes to call this ocean race “the Grand-daddy of them all”. Stanfield is referring to the fact that MHOR goes all the way back to 1905, a year before the Newport Bermuda Race started and several decades before races like the Fastnet or Sydney-Hobart were conceived.

Coast Guard Vessel Leonard J. Cowley Receives Vessel Life Extension Funding

North America’s Largest Indoor Boat Show Delivers Solid Sales To Launch 2015
The Toronto International Boat Show is an economic bellwether for the Canadian boating industry, and exhibitors at the 57th annual show reported sales that exceeded conservative expectations, with a majority of product categories experiencing positive results. Over 500 manufacturers, dealers and marine suppliers sold out more than a million square feet of the Direct Energy Centre at Toronto’s Exhibition Place from January 9 – 18, 2015.

Bell’s Beer 91st Consecutive Bayview Mackinac Race
Significant changes have been made to the 91st 2015 Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race in order to enhance the race experience, and by the looks of it, sailors are embracing them wholeheartedly. With registration having opened a month earlier than last year, more than 85 teams have entered. The event, which last year accommodated 226 boats, starts Saturday, July 18 on Lake Huron and is hosted by Bayview Yacht Club, which notably celebrates its 100th Anniversary this year.
