A one-day Level 1 Assistant Race Officer Course covers the duties and responsibilities of an ARO as well as basic compass skills, setting and maintaining start/finish lines, etc.

In 2016 Squadron members conducted about 1750 RVCCs. 57% of those RVCCs were first time checks and 57% were conducted on boats under 9 meters in length.
