Naden Boats and the CIBC Run for the Cure – North Bay team up for The Pink Boat Tour!

Naden's Pink Boat

A Northern Ontario boat building company is supporting the campaign to find a cure for breast cancer by building and donating a boat – a pink boat of course – that will be raffled off in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure – North Bay. The complete the package, valued at over $7,000, will consist of a 14’ Pink Naden Fisherman, a Tohatsu 15hp 4-stroke engine, a Yacht Club Trailer manufactured by Easy Hauler and donated by Baywood Enterprises in North Bay, 2 Salus Marine PFDs for the winner and her or his partner and a boat cover donated by Temagami Marine.

“Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer diagnosis in Canadian women over the age of 20,” states Naden President Andre Lamothe, “and we are pleased to have the opportunity to support the wonderful work being done by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.” “North Bay is right in our back yard and the CIBC Run for the Cure – North Bay is a wonderful all-volunteer project” continued Lamothe. “We also thought we would have a little bit of fun and build a pink boat.”

Naden Boats and CIBC Run for The Cure – North Bay will sell tickets at $5.00 each or 5 for $20 in the hopes of selling enough tickets to raise nearly $25,000. The draw will occur Sunday, October 6th at the conclusion of CIBC Run for the Cure in North Bay, ON. The Pink Boat Tour will be launched Saturday, June 29th in Callander, ON when Naden Dealer Harper’s Marine will tow the boat in the local parade. From there The Pink Boat Tour makes its way up to Alban, ON. In fact, there are 7 events already scheduled for this summer.

“We have several events planned over the summer” stated Lamothe. “It’s all being co-ordinated through the CIBC Run for the Cure – North Bay volunteer committee. I imagine by the end of the summer, this little pink boat will have travelled several thousand kilometers around the North- Eastern Ontario.”

Pink BoatThe 14’ Pink Naden Fisherman was hand-crafted in Temagami which is one of the most pristine boating areas of Ontario. All Naden Boats are built using a proprietary cleaning and coating process that is environmentally safe. Naden boats are powder coated via an electrostatic process. As an added bonus, this molecular bonding creates a durable finish that is even more scratch and fade resistant than alternatives. “We like to characterize Naden boats – as eco-boats, because they are built using environmentally sound processes. And I’m delighted that Tohatsu donated one of their 4-stroke motors. They are known for their ultra low emission rate and are EPA and CARB approved. ” stated Lamothe.

The entire Naden Boats plant was involved in the building of the 14’ Pink Fisherman. This is Naden’s first pink boat, and quite possibly the first for the recreational marine industry.  Naden’s corporate motto reads: “All our boats are green, even the red ones!” Lamothe is delighted to think that he might have to revise his logo to read even the pink ones.

Tickets will be sold through the CIBC Run for the Cure – North Bay, stores in Callander, ON and other Naden Boat dealers. Donations can be made directly from the Nadenboats.com/pink-boat-tour web page in the name of the Pink Boat Tour.
The CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada’s largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, education and awareness programs. Last year Canadians united to raise over $30 million for the event.
