Bob Johnstone’s MJM43z, a new outboard cruiser

MJM 43z Profile

May 24, 2018

In its new 43z, MJM Yachts offers the cruising comforts of its unique, high tech down east designs along with the sporty handling, enhanced speed and shoal water versatility of outboard power. The launch of the 43z, and its sistership the 35z, represent the most advanced level of a new and rapidly growing category of boat, the Outboard Express Cruiser.

CY’s John Armstrong reports “I had the fortune of meeting Bob Johnstone, the owner of MJM Yachts a number of years ago when Canadian Yachting did a review on the MJM 50z as well as the outboard powered MJM 35z. Johnstone is known for J Boats, a brand that revolutionized sailing, and is now shifting to performing power cruisers.

mjm 43Z MotorsI also spent some time with Scott Smith, Managing Director of Boston Boat Works who is the exclusive builder of the MJM boat line.”

MJM’s are sold into Ontario by the Michigan Dealer. John Armstrong will be doing a Canadian Yachting story on an MJM owner who has his boat on Georgian Bay this summer! In the meantime check the “ 43 Zee” video .
