Sea to Sky now RYA recognized training centre

Sea to Sky Sailing Instruction

Mar 28, 2019

Sea to Sky Sailing has just been approved as the only Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognized training centre on the west coast of North America just in time to deliver an epic 2019 season!

“This transition from our previous International Yacht Training (IYT) certification to RYA is a huge benefit to our students as it provides them certification that is known globally as the gold standard for yacht training.  The RYA requires training centres to undergo annual inspections of their vessels, business practices and training delivery in order to maintain a strong standard and guarantee a high quality experience for students.  Under the RYA we are also now able to provide higher levels of training including a pathway to professional certification, as well as giving access to a wide array of excellent training resources including online navigation education. “

Sea to Sky RacingSea to Sky’s website at www.seatoskysailing.com has been updated to reflect our new RYA program, and you can read details on new programs and the differences to expect between their former IYT program and royal certification here.

Sea to Sky Sailing“This is the biggest change for Sea to Sky since we first launched and bought Paragon as our flagship back in March 2016.  In the last three years, we’ve taken students in just about every race in BC, trained hundreds of new sailors to be safe and love life on the water, circumnavigated Vancouver Island and raced a tiny boat all the way to Alaska and back.  This year we will continue to deliver our signature mix of cruising and racing training… but now we get to wear a crown!  “
