A clever sting for wasps

Oh! When you said yellow jackets I thought you meant foul-weather gear. Nothing ruins the ambience at a picnic like a squadron of determined wasps.

Here’s a solution (so to speak) that we found while researching in the Thousand Islands. Cut the top third off a small, disposable, plastic beverage container. Then cut off and dispose of the middle third. Invert the mouth third into the bottom part (forming a funnel or, in this case, a Wicked Wasp Access Port) and tape it in place with duct tape, electrical tape, masking tape or whatever is available.

Now fill the container up to within about 1/4 inch of the bottom of the “funnel” with a sweet liquid. The evil little stingers fly in to take a drink, but they can’t escape. Winged Victory.
