Barrie Mayor and Squadron PRO proclaim Safe Boating Week

Every year, to mark National Safe Boating Awareness Week, the Barrie Power and Sail Squadron enlists the assistance of the Office of the Barrie Mayor to raise local awareness.

The Mayor issues a proclamation, which this year read as follows, in part:

“I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor of the City of Barrie, do hereby proclaim May 20 to May 26, 2017, as Canadian Safe Boating Awareness Week in the City of Barrie and I urge all citizens to take note of this special week. I also encourage everyone to learn more about safe boating practices and always engage in proper and safe conduct while on the water.”

In addition, the Barrie Squadron flag is raised at City Hall and flies for the duration of the week.
