HIBS 2018 preview

NC895

Dec 21, 2017

It’s hard to believe but the Halifax Boat Show is less than 2 months away. That being the case let’s take a look a couple of the larger boats which you can check out.

The new Jeanneau NC895 will be taking pride of place in the Seamaster Marine booth alongside Grady-White, Stingray, Yamaha and their other products. The team at Seamasters are excited about the Jeanneau as it gives them a boat with real cruising potential. Perhaps because the design originates in Northern Europe, the enclosed wheelhouse is perfect of our climate.

With plenty of windows and ventilation the house never seems claustrophobic, but it will certainly extend the boating season.

This model is the first Jeanneau powerboat to be built in the US, but they will no doubt to adding to the production line. You can read a detailed review of this boat in the December issue of Canadian Yachting magazine:

R27 Full Plane

Lake Simcoe based Lefroy Harbour Resorts Inc will have an R27 from Ranger Tugs on display. Built in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, Washington, Ranger Tugs have a had considerable success with their trailerable cruisers. Admittedly the R27 is at the upper end of “trailerable”, but the boat’s 8’6” beam means it can be towed without permits. Dry weight is given as 7,000 lb., loaded for cruising it will be considerably more.

R27 With DownriggersPowered by the efficient and popular Yamaha F300 outboard motor, the new R-27 is also equipped with a Garmin 7612 Chartplotter which will guide you safely on your passage and when you arrive, the bow thruster will make docking a non-event.

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
