Will you be able to charter this winter?
June 25, 2020
To answer the question we have been getting regularly, CYOB went straight to the source. We asked The Moorings and Sunsail’s senior marketing manager, Ian Pedersen, what the picture is from his perspective – here’s his reply:
As of writing this email, we are eagerly awaiting the official reopening dates of numerous worldwide charter destinations, many of which seem to be aiming for a reopening date sometime in July. Flights are also being slowly re-introduced as well, and my personal view is that all of our destinations will be open and fully-operational by October. We anticipate that we will be happily welcoming guests on charter once more for the duration of the winter season and beyond.
This week, we are implementing and announcing new Flexible booking policies, so guests have peace of mind when reserving their charter that if things arise pertaining to Covid-19 which prevent them from taking their charter, we will work with them to reschedule their charter without loss of deposit.
We have also implemented new cleaning procedures (including fogging of boats) and other initiatives aimed at reducing the time spent at the marina upon arrival, reducing touch-points with staff and other guests, and facilitating social distancing while at our marinas prior to setting sail. The full list of steps we are taking with regards to our staff, our marina facilities, and our yachts can be found online here.
It has been a long few months for everyone, but these are exciting times as there does seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel – giving anyone eager to feel the wind in their hair again something to look forward to.
