Some of the finest sailing in the world is done on the famous Bras d’Or Lakes. Known for gentle, fog-free waters, beautiful anchorages and hundreds of coves and islands. For boaters arriving to cruise of the lakes or those preparing for the return journey south, the St. Peters Lions Club marina, located just ¼ mile from the lakeside entrance to the St. Peters canal, is a convenient place to rest and provision. The marina is a short walk from the village of St. Peters with access to grocery store, liquor store, hardware and restaurants.

Club manager Gerry Gibson tells us the club has added 3 new moorings, upgraded some floating docks and added a new launch ramp. There is also a kayak dock and storage available.

• 64 berths on floating docks and marina wharf
• Accommodations for boats up to 150 feet
• 10 moorings
• Fuel (diesel & gas)
• Pump out station on fuel dock
• Propane available in village
• 30-amp power available on floating docks
• 30 and 50-amp power available on fuel dock
• Dockside water
• Comfortable lounge in clubhouse equipped with TV, cable, a computer with internet access and a printer for guests use.
• Full kitchenette in clubhouse with stove, sink, fridge, microwave, pots, pans and dishes as well as BBQ’s on the deck overlooking the marina
• Picnic tables
• 5 full washrooms with showers, 1 wheelchair accessible
• Coin operated laundromat on premises
• Ice (block & cube)
• Basic marine supplies on-site; other supplies available speak with Marina staff for more info
• Free high-speed wireless internet access throughout the marina, available even on moorings
• Marina monitors VHF channel 68
• Pay phone in clubhouse

St Peters Marina 2Gerry also notes any boaters approaching St. Peters from the west or heading to Port Hawkesbury from the canal should check the status of the Lennox Passage lift bridge. As of this writing the bridge is welded shut and no opening date has been announced. This restricts the safe passage inside of Isle Madame to small powerboats. Notice to Mariners should have the latest news.
