Salty Dawgs Announce New Rally – Great Lakes to Hampton, VA

Salty Dawg

June 7, 2017

Great Lakes sailors have long been a fun-loving and capable contingent in the Salty Dawg Fall Rally to the Caribbean. Some come from the US side of the Great Lakes; others are Canadian.

This year, the Salty Dawg Sailing Association with help from Rally Master Howie Colt is introducing a new rally specifically designed to help those from the Great Lakes cruise-in-company from Toronto, through the New York Barge Canal, down the Hudson River, and down the East Coast to the southern end of the Chesapeake Bay. All in time for the Salty Dawg Fall Rally activities that begin in Hampton VA on October 26. You could also call this the Sweetwater to Salty Water Rally.

For more information, go to Great Lakes to Hampton Rally. Or, contact Rally Master Howie Colt at hcolt@live.com

The Salty Dawg family is growing, and we look forward to helping Great Lakes sailors through the adventure of getting their boats to Hampton, and then on to the ocean passage to the Caribbean.

One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
