Pacific Gateway Marina

Aerial Marina

Apr 25, 2017

If you are planning a trip up the west coast of Vancouver Island, there is a new safe harbour at Port Renfrew, the home of the Pacheedaht First Nation, meaning “People of the Sea Foam”, and it is also the new home of the Pacific Gateway Marina.

The coastline of British Columbia stretches approximately 27,000 km, including countless islands, bays, inlets and arms. It would take a lifetime to explore. Port Renfrew is the last step into this remote area.
The new Rock Rubble breakwater at Pacific Gateway Marina is just over a year old and now provides safe moorage 12 months of the year.

PGM is ramping up for the 2017 season and is now home for approximately 20 angling guides who provide guided fishing trips to the world famous Swift Sure Banks fishing grounds. Crabbing and Halibut fishing is currently good and improving every day. Winter/spring fishing has been fantastic this past season with numerous anglers day tripping from PGM. The new boat launch makes launching quick and safe during all tide events.

The Bridgeman’s food Trailer will be permanently onsite starting May 15th and will provide the anglers with that early morning 5:30 coffee, breakfast and a bagged lunch. Please pre-book the lunch. The food trailer will include lunch and dinner service this year and you can enjoy your meal on the new patio or around the fire in the Gazebo.

Other improvements include a new float plane dock that will be installed this spring and will be ready for service for May 15th. Plans are underway for a new accommodation centre for 2018.

Pacific Gateway Marina is also pleased to announce that the facility now has a fulltime manager,VickiAsselin, on site and is open seven days a week. Contact Vicki at 250-412-5509

Aummer events include the Father’s Day Derby June 18 to 20th and a Youth Derby on the docks on Canada day. Email: contact@pacificgatewaymarina.ca to book moorage or inquire about on-going events.
