Customer Testimonial:
“Last summer, I attended a boat show in Gravenhurst and found a vendor selling a product called Hydro Flask. As a mug and travel mug connoisseur, (meaning I have a lot more than I need…), of course, I stopped to have a look. I was immediately drawn to the flask in the centre of the table with a sign in front of it that read something like “This ice has been in this flask since Friday”, and it was now Sunday afternoon. Then, I noticed the banner above the table that read “Hydro Flask – HOT 12 Hours – COLD 24 Hours”. “Is this really true?”, I thought. As if reading my mind, the gentleman behind the table invited me to open the flask in the centre of the table and see for myself that yes, there was still ice in the flask and the water was truly ice cold. I couldn’t believe it. I had never heard of such a flask. I bought a 40oz. flask with my mother in mind as she is always taking at least three bottles of ice and water with her to work every day. “This is perfect!”, I thought. Well, once I got home with the flask and my mom and I started using it, we continued to be impressed by the product. I had to have more. I now have my own 40 oz. Flask, my husband, mother and I all have the 18oz. Coffee/Tea Flasks and we have two Food Flasks. I can honestly say that since I purchased my Hydro Flasks I have not used ANY other travel mug in my house. I don’t even use regular mugs at home anymore! All of my liquids, whether hot or cold, live in my Hydro Flask. Hydro Flasks are double-walled, vacuum-insulated flasks that do what they say….keep hot liquids hot for up to 12 hours and cold liquids cold for up to 24 hours. The flasks are made of food grade stainless steel, are BPA-Free and come with a lifetime warranty. The lids come with a lifetime warranty, too! Hydro Flasks come in a variety of sizes and colours, which makes them very unique. Hydro Flask also offers a variety of lids to choose from….my mom loves the Straw Lid and I love the Hydro Flip Lid! I am so happy to have found this
product!    Thank you Hydro Flask!”

The Erie Canal – An Extraordinary Waterway

By Mark Stevens

Photos by Sharon Matthews-Stevens

As I shift our chartered canal boat into neutral, I’m soothed by the soundtrack of bird calls, the occasional plaintive horn of a distant train and the hum of our engine.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
